Micromax Unite 2: Top five features
Micromax Unite 2 was launched yesterday for Rs 6,999 to pit against the Motorola Moto E, which according to us is the benchmark budget smartphone. Considering that Motorola has become a major threat to the local vendor, Micromax has tried to offer similar or better features in the Unite 2. Here are the top five features of the Micromax Unite 2 that makes it a worthy rival to the Moto E.
Android OS: Apart from Motorola Moto E, the Unite 2 is the only smartphone to offer Android’s 4.4.2 Kitkat version out of the box at sub-Rs 7,000 price segment. The phone does not only run on the latest Android software version, but will support software updates over the air. Just like Motorola, Micromax too is guaranteeing at least one Android update for the Unite 2.
Processor: The Micromax Unite 2 is powered by a 1.3GHz Mediatek 6582M quad-core chipset which is coupled with 1GB of RAM. While most of the phones in this range are powered by a dual-core chipset, the quad-core chipset and 1GB of RAM on this phone ensure that the phone performs multiple tasks smoothly and offers a good gaming experience to its users.
Display: The Unite 2 dons a 4.7-inch Bright Graph IPS display with 800×480 pixels resolution. Though this is not the best display we have seen in this price range, it still is good for those who are eyeing for a budget smartphone with a big display.
Camera: The phone adorns a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and flash, which is capable of recording videos at 720p. It also has a 2-megapixel front facing camera, which can be used for clicking selfies or making video calls over 3G network.
Language support: For those who are looking for a phone that supports various languages, this phone support 21 languages which include English, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Marathi, Nepali, Bodo, Dogri, Konkani, Kashmiri, Maithili, Manipuri, Sanskrit and Sindhi.
